Video about SAS and the department
Some of the SAS
students put together a video last semester highlighting some of the history of
the Division of Counseling Psychology at UMKC. It would be a great
resource for students considering our program or new students.
The UMKC Division of
Counseling and Educational Psychology: A Historical Perspective.
Created by Codi Schale, Amy Poindexter, Danyele Shelton, and Brandy Peoples in
2007.
Our own blackboard site:
In response to one of the needs discussed during our SAS meeting, we have created a Blackboard site for SAS. It is listed as a "course" but it is our student organization. To access it, simply log in to Blackboard. Everyone from the last 4 cohorts have been enrolled. If for some reason, I have missed you, please email me and let me know. This Blackboard site will allow easy communications with your cohort or all students in the program. By using the discussion board, we can easily discuss and keep track of conversations about practicum, assistantships, etc. You can also post your messages anonymously if you chose. In addition, our meeting minutes (and possibly faculty meeting minutes) will be posted there.
APASAS Meeting:
The SAS meeting went well. There were 8 students and one faculty member at the meeting. We discussed many issues related to future events and possible ways to make our PhD experience even better. Minutes of SAS meetings minutes are posted on our new Blackboard site in the documents area.
Graduate Student Lounge Update: WE HAVE A COMPUTER!!!
Its nice and fast. SPSS and Office 2007 are loaded on it. Be sure to remember to save your files in a form that is compatible with your software.
