CSA Funding Proposals

CSA has a budget which can be used to award funding to eligible Conservatory student organizations.  Student organizations can apply by printing off the Funding Request Forms (CSA Funding Proposal as a Word document) and following the guidelines below.  Please see the calendar page on the CSA website for a list of Funding Request due dates.

Ø   CSA will accept funding requests from recognized Conservatory student organizations ONLY.  CSA will not review requests submitted by professors or individual Conservatory students.

Ø   Funding requests must be submitted at least three weeks before the event or travel.  If an organization plans to submit an appropriations request to SGA Appropriations after submitting a funding request to CSA, then the funding request to CSA must be submitted at least four weeks in advance.

Ø   CSA will not purchase equipment for organizations unless it can be used by as many students as possible.

Examples:

CSA will not purchase instrument stands which can only be used by people that play that instrument.

CSA will consider purchasing books/recordings that could be kept in the library and accessed by all UMKC students.

Ø   Organizations seeking funding for a concert, lecture, master class, etc.  must advertise the event outside the Conservatory!  Flyers must be posted not only within Grant Hall and the PAC, but non-Conservatory buildings, as well.  Also, CSA must be recognized as a sponsor on the poster.  CSA will be collaborating with the Student Life Office to help you hang posters up.  If the organization submits 50 Student Life Office stamped posters to CSA, then we will work with the Student Life Office to hang them up around the campus.  The organization will not be able to obtain future funding from CSA if these conditions are not met.

Ø   If an individual in an organization is applying for travel on behalf of the organization, the individual must show proof of other sources of funding and other attempts to obtain funding, before consideration for funding will be given by CSA.  A list of funding sources, source phone numbers, and amounts must be submitted with the CSA funding request.  CSA will contact the sources to verify the information.
