When should my organization submit the Officer Listing Form?
- Each time there is an election or a change in the officers’ personal information.
- Three weeks after the first day of classes each semester (fall and winter) – this is regardless if your officer information has changed or not this form is still required.
- Three weeks is the DEADLINE for submission. You can turn these in before this time and encourage you to do so. For instance, if your elections take place in November or May, you can submit your officer listing form for the next semester. Please note which semester it is for on the form. Also please note ALL forms submitted to our office must be typed.
- Failure to submit your officer listing form by the deadline will result in your organization not being recognized.
Where can I obtain the Officer Listing Form?
The Officer Listing Form is available on the Student Life Office website under the Forms section. The form is in PDF format and can be typed online. However the information on the form will disappear if the form is saved or emailed unless you have the Adobe Writer software. We recommend that you print and submit the form in person or by fax.
Why must we list down an advisor on our officer listing form?
UMKC believes it is beneficial for student organizations to have an advisor who is a faculty, staff or community member. Hence it has made it mandatory for all student organizations to have an advisor in order to receive official recognition from UMKC.
Who should we list down as our primary contact?
The primary contact will receive most communication sent out from the Student Life Office. Most of the time, these communications will be sent via email. Your student organization should list the president or another officer who will distribute information to the members in the organization.
What do the Student Life Office do with student organization contact information?
We use the contact information to communicate student organization information and materials that may be of interest to the student organizations. Also, if a student is interested in finding out more information regarding that organization we will provide them with email addresses for the officers. We never provide phone numbers, addresses or any other information besides name and email address to anyone inquiring regarding your student organization.
