Tajikistan

August, 2005 - Tajikistan is currently in the midst of a cholera epidemic which is steadily worsening.  The Tajikistan government is not recognizing the epidemic, which makes it very difficult for NGOs to get supplies, as the costs of shipping these supplies (and generally, getting emergency procurement) is significantly more expensive without a government plea.

At this point, GlobeMed of UMKC is engaged in raising funds to send IV starter kits and lactated ringers to Dushanbe.  Our aim is to financially assist Merlin, a London-based NGO, in shipping the supplies that they already have to Tajikistan.
